Hello from the SLS Hotel and Beverly Hills! My BFF Sandra, used her Starwood points for a girls birthday weekend. More to come. But for now would like to report on a fun birthday night at Suss' store Suss Design.
I met Suss about 7 years ago when I decided to start knitting again. I did a lot of research on knitting places in LA and decided to join the knitting group she was hosting of all places in LA. I liked the fact that she is a designer and has her own line of knitwear and also at that time, her own yarns. The group met Tuesday nights and we knitted over drinks (mainly wine but occasionally Suss' original martinis) and delicious finger food. I met my BFFs Chris, Genie and Billie there and we had so much fun, knitting, chatting and drinking of course! I also got to know Suss very well. Suss is from Sweden and is one of the most amazing and generous designers and also a very special friend. She was so generous with her designs and also with her creativity by helping us create fabulous knitwear. And is a super woman, in that she has a family (husband and two gorgeous daughters) that she has to look after in addition to having her own business.
So on my birthday night, she coincidentally was holding a girls' night party at her store, where one could to some shopping of not only her knitwear but her brother's jewelry and also a hair styling while enjoying champagne, wine and good food. I haven't seen her since I've been back so we had a very good time catching up. I also caught up with her daughters Viveka and Hannah. Hannah is already a senior in college and has blossomed to a very sophisticated young woman. And Vivika! She was shorter than me when I last saw her and a tomboy but now she is 5ft 10 and has super model looks. And she is only in the 8th grade!! Amazing!
I had a lovely night where I met some fascinating women and managed to buy 2 gorgeous original knitwear from Suss. We promised to get together soon with Chris and Genie as soon as Genie comes back from her 1 month vacation in Lyon. Can't wait!
