June Gloom….and yes it's August
I've been on a Leonardo diCaprio obsession lately. I don't know why.. I never found him that attractive until recently. Actually it started in Japan when I watched Revolutionary Road on iTunes. I rented it as I'm a big Kate Winslet fan. Kate Winslet's acting was amazing but I was also blown away by Leonardo's acting in that movie. And so began my obsession with Leonardo.
Well, it's not really an obsession as I have not seen another Leonardo movie until about a month ago. And the movie was "Shutter Island". I rented the Blu Ray version on Netflix as I just got a Blu Ray DVD player. I did not rent it because of Leonardo but because Martin Scorcese was directing it. It was a bad movie but Leonardo caught my attention again as did the cinematography. So that movie inspired me to rent "Body of Lies", which was OK but Leonardo again impressed me. And then, my nephew Billy came to visit me and wanted to see "Inception", which was AWESOME. Now, I have to admit the movie stole the attention away from Leonardo. But the next movie from Netflix that was in the mailbox the day after watching "Inception" was "The Departed". Now that movie not only restored my faith in Martin Scorcese but made me a big fan of Leonardo. And that's when the obsession began.
So the next movie I rented from Netflix was "Blood Diamond"… a movie I've always wanted to see as I've read a lot about the DeBeers family and role diamonds have played in the destruction of Africa. Well, I just saw the movie, and Leonardo was magnificent. I can't believe he didn't get an Oscar for that role!
And so the obsession begins… I'm now going to watch "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" on Netflix streaming.
But don't worry Clive, you are still the MAN, but Leonardo is now my "younger man" obsession. :))
I love Leonardo – go see him as well in marvin’s room, romeo and juliet, catch me if you can, basketball diaries
