Adopting Plants

Tokyo, Japan

Cloudy and Cold!

Yesterday, I spent most of the day gardening.  You see, I'm adopting Mary L's gorgeous plants as she is returning back to the States because of her husband Carl's job.  Mary L is super talented.  She is an unbelievable cook, athlete, artist and gardener.  I've never had a green thumb but am going to go for it.  I just hope the plants don't get too depressed as they will definitely miss Mary L.

Anyhoo,  so how did I get all the plants to my apartment?  Carl and I loaded 2 carts with plants and made 3 trips across Roppongi Dori to my apartment.  It took us a good 3 hours to get it all done!  Once we got them all to my place, I took a break and then spent the rest of the afternoon, organizing the plants around my deck and apartment.  Here are some photos of the plants in their new home.

The cacti are inside the apartment with a view of Mt. Fuji and plenty of light

The orchid and I believe Hyacinths are on the opposide side of where the cacti are.  I cant' wait to see them flower.

And the two planters have tulip bulbs which should come out in the spring!

I'll post updates on the plants as we enter Winter in Japan.
