Tokyo Midtown, Tokyo
Another Glorious Fall Day
Well, the inevitable is approaching. Time for me to go back home to the US. I have mixed feelings about leaving. As the dogs are already in California, Tokyo no longer feels like home and my "apartment" feels empty. I've missed my cat, Professor… lots. But I've met many wonderful people and many who will be my life long friends. And so begins the "goodbye" events. Monika graciously organized a lunch for me with some of my new dear friends. We had a fabulous lunch at one of my favorite restaurants in Tokyo – Union Square Tokyo. It is a branch of Union Square in New York which is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. Nakazato-san, the Maitr'd took very good care of us and gave us the best table in the house. We had a great time catching up as I was in Laos and Cambodia during the past 2 weeks and know that we will all continue to be in touch no matter where we are.
First Eunice left Japan, then Dima followed by Karyn and now me. Such is life as an ex-pat, but it is always difficult to leave a place like Tokyo especially when you meet many very special and kind people.

I LOVE the staff! My favorite bartender is missing though as he was not working on Sunday.
Some of my favorite people in the world: Michael, Mary L, Monika and Mary Z.
OK, so they misspelled my name but it is the thought that counts!
