Sunny and Beautiful

Summer has arrived just in time for Memorial Day weekend in Malibu.  But the past two weeks… brrr.  Cold, chilly and we even had some rain.   So last weekend, while unpacking (yes, I have not unpacked everything yet), I found the my beautiful Le Creuset pot that I bought during an invitation only sales event in Tokyo.  It's a beautiful pot and I love the color – wasabi green.

Since I had left over pearl onions and some stewing meat from Bristol Farms in the refrigerator, decided to make Beef Bourguignon.  I used the recipe from Julia Child's classic " Mastering the Art of French Cooking"   I have to say, that the book looks intimidating, but the instructions are very clear, so the recipes are straight forward.  It took a good part of the day to make it, but when done,  delicious.  I made a big batch of mashed potatoes so my main meal during the cold blustery days in Malibu was beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes and an arugula salad.  Bon Appetit!
